Wilson D'Souza for CODP

Mangalore, Feb 27: The Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP)  (R), Kadri Hills, Nanthoor, Mangalore and Navashakti de-addiction camp organizing committee, Mudipu, Balepuni gram panchyat, Mudipu Church, Krupa Foundation Mangalore, and Pragathi Maha Sangha Mudipu organized  10day’s residential Alcohol de-addiction camp at Dr B R Ambedkar Bhavan, Hoo Hakuva Kallu in Balepuni panchayat campus from Sunday February 26.

 

 Inaugurating the Camp Fr Onil D’Souza, Director of CODP said that alcoholism is a social evil and all the organizations should join hands to uproot this social evil.  "However the community as a whole has a role to play in this direction too since alcoholism has its direct effect on the community wherein the addict lives. On successful eradication of this evil the community will witness an all-round development," he added.

Mamata D S Gatti, president of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, Janardhana Gatti, president, Balepuni GP, Fr Andrew D’souza, parish priest Mudipu, Paul D’souza of Krupa Foundation and other dignitaries were present at the inaugural function.
