Udupi, Feb 28: It is very shocking to see the rate at which the crimes against children are increasing in the coastal districts.  The innocent children are becoming the victims of someone's lust, selfishness, negligence etc.  Yet there is hardly anyone in the society who is bothered about this.

In more incident of such heinous crime, a newborn baby was found abandoned in Indrali near Manipal here on Sunday February 26 night.  The infant was found in front of one Satish Shenoy's house at Indrali.

Immediately the news was passed on to the police and Udupi town council president filed a complaint in this regard.  The child has now been admitted to the hospital.

The police are not yet sure as from where the child came.  It is suspected that the child could be the result of an unwanted pregnancy or pre-marital pregnancy owing to which the mother abandoned the child and fled the place.
