Tourism Malaysia to promote 'Adutha Kattam'

Chennai, Sep 23 (IANS): "Adutha Kattam", a forthcoming Tamil film, will be promoted by Tourism Malaysia which promises to back films shot in the country.

A major portion of "Adutha Kattam" was shot in Malaysia.

"This is our way of supporting films that have been shot in our country. 'Adutha Kattam' has been shot in places such as Putrajaya, Dataran, Merdeka, Petronas twin towers and many other places. We would like more filmmakers to come and explore the place and shoot films here," Mohammed Izal, director, Tourism Malaysia, South India told IANS.

"We welcome not just local filmmakers but international filmmakers as well to shoot in Malaysia," he added.

Directed by M. Muralikrishnan, "Adutha Kattam" tracks the story of a lonely woman for 24 hours after her car breaks down on a highway.

"We are happy to be backed by Tourism Malaysia. Their support will help in getting a lot of visibility, which will in turn help in our film's promotion. We are looking at possible dates to release the film soon," said Muralikrishnan.
