'Celebrating Vivaha' heads to US


New Delhi, Sep 23 (IANS): The organisers of ''Celebrating Vivaha'', one of Asia’s best luxurious wedding exhibitions, are taking the event to the US. It will make its international debut in New Jersey.

The three-day exhibition will start June 6 next year at the Convention and Exposition Centre in Edison, New Jersey, said a statement.

Tarun Sarda, CEO of the exhibition, said that success on the home front inspired him to take it abroad.

"My aim now is to reach out to more and more people and get a variety of entrepreneurs directly involved in the business of weddings," said Sarda.

The exhibition will comprise of various brands related to clothing, jewellery, trousseau packaging, luxury watches, cosmetics, honeymoon destinations and lifestyle refinements under one roof.

It will showcase all contemporary Indian products and services from different parts of India such as Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow as well as Kashmir thus giving the local residents a flavour of the Indian market.

The first day of the exhibition will be strictly by invitation for trade buyers and special invitees, while the remaining two days will be open for the public.

As an annual event, ''Celebrating Vivaha'' started in New Delhi and Mumbai in 2003 and has since expanded to various cities like Kolkata, Indore, Ludhiana, Raipur, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
