Kundapur, Mar 1: Krishnayya Acharya of Sabladi near here who had sustained serious injuries in an accident on Wednesday February 22 succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Tuesday February 28.

Krishnayya had sustained serious injuries after being knocked down by a manganese ore laden lorry at Tallur near here on February 22.  Krishnayya was on his way to the city on his mobike when the accident took place.  Having sustained serious injuries he was admitted to KMC Hospital at Manipal near Udupi.

However, he succumbed to the injuries on Tuesday.  He was a carpenter by profession.  He is survived by wife and children.
