Pakistan quake shakes Srinagar


Srinagar, Sep Sep 24 (IANS): The massive tremor that struck the Balochistan region of Pakistan Tuesday was also recorded in Srinagar although no loss of life or property was reported from anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir.

"An earthquake measuring 7.0 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded by us at 6.59 p.m. today evening," an official of the local metereological office told IANS here.

"The epicentre of the quake was in Balochistan in Pakistan and its intensity was great. The coordinates of the recorded quake are latitude 27.0 degrees north and longitude 65.7 east."

Provincial administration sources said no loss of life or property was reported from anywhere in the Valley because of the tremor so far.
