Karkala, Sep 25: After a quick investigation led by Karkala inspector Valerian D’Souza, the police on Tuesday September 24 night arrested a person from Santhekatte in connection to the theft which recently took place at Mahalaxmi jewellery.
The arrested has been identified as Sandeep Moghaveera (26) from Kundapur.
Others involved in the theft, Muniyalu Madhukar Achari, Kundapura Shahid, Koni Chandrahaas were earlier arrested and are in police custody.Mohan from Ampaar and Prashanth from Kundapur are still absconding.
It may be recalled that the thieves threw chili powder on Mahalaxmi gold works owner Ramachandra Anand Rao and looted 1.4 kg gold on September 17.
Under the guidance of Hiriyadka station SI Manjula, police team initially arrested main accused Madhukar Achari.
