NBA champions Miami Heat to train in Bahamas

Nassau (Bahamas), Sep 25 (IANS/CMC): NBA champions Miami Heat will hold their training camp here in October.

Heat, seeking their third straight NBA title, will hold pre-season training at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort from next Tuesday to Friday. The players will travel to the Bahamas Monday and will conduct two-a-day practice sessions beginning Tuesday, reports CMC.

They will conclude the practice sessions and return to Miami Friday.

Heat, in a press release Tuesday, thanked Bahamas Prime Minister Perry Christie and Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe for their assistance.

This is the second time in four seasons they have held a training camp outside Miami, having also done so in 2010 at Elgin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Last fall, players attended pre-season trip in China.
