Mangalore, Mar 2: The Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike in association with other like minded organisations staged a protest against US President George Bush's visit to India, in front of Deputy Commissioner's office here on Wednesday March 1.
Demanding Bush to return to his country, the protestors held placards which read "Go back Bush," "No 1 terrorist Bush", "Protest against American goods" and "Uphold human dignity".
AMUCT President Prof S Hayavadana Upadhya said "the protest is not against Bush as an individual but against the system of imperialism of the US."
"Bush is the enemy of poor, third world countries and against the exploited. To understand Bush and imperialism of the US, we should first study the geography and history of the world."
Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy President Eric Ozario said in the guise of fight against terrorism, Bush attacked Iraq and Afghanistan and killed thousands of people.
Shanthi Prakashan Director Mohammed Kunhi was also present at the protest.
