Djokovic announces engagement

Belgrade, Sep 26 (IANS): Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has announced engagement to his longtime girlfriend Jelena Ristic on social media.

The 26-year-old Djokovic, World No.1, said in a tweet Wednesday, "Meet my fiance and future wife. So happy! Thank you for the wonderful wishes," reports Xinhua.

He also posted a photo of being kissed by his fiancee, also a Serb.

Djokovic has been dating Ristic for eight years. And Ristic has been known to the fans as a fashionable and enthusiastic presence at Djokovic's matches and also director of his charitable foundation.

Djokovic has won six Grand Slam singles titles in his career including the 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013 Australian Open, the 2012 Wimbledon Championships as well as the 2011 US Open.
