Udupi, Mar 3: MP Manorama Madhwaraj has appealed the union government to resume the Mangalore-Hassan rail, which has been under suspension for long.
Speaking during the debate on the budget in the parliament she said that owing to difference of opinions between railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and minister of state Velu, the train service between Mangalore and Hassan has been delayed.
Confirming her view she reminded that the minister of state Velu had earlier said that the much needed Mangalore-Hassan train will be resumed by the end of the year 2005 after completing the gauge conversion.
"But there has been no mention of the same in this year's railway budget. This clearly suggests that two responsible persons are heading in different directions," she added.
