'Rajjo' to clash with 'Ram Leela' Nov 15

Mumbai, Sep 27 (IANS): "Ram Leela", featuring actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, was to enjoy a solo release Nov 15, but now Kangana Ranaut-starrer "Rajjo" will also hit the screens on the same date.

Both the movies will release Nov 15.

"I was waiting for an apt time to bring the film. Even though the main character Kangana (or Rajjo) plays a 'mujrawali' in the film, it isn't sombre or depressing by any means," "Rajjo" director Vishwas Patil said in a statement.

With "Rajjo" and "Ram Leela" releasing on the same date, the audience will not only get a chance to see two different genres at the box office, but they will also see two actresses - Kangana and Deepika playing title roles in their respective films.

Kangana is very confident about her film and she is happy that the film is releasing during the festive season.

"'Rajjo' is really close to my heart and I am glad it is being released this festive season. As for competition with other films, there would be one every week in any case. I am sure my producers are taking a good call and it comes from the trust and confidence they have in the product," she said.

Produced by Four Pillar Films, "Rajjo" also features Paras Arora, Prakash Raj, Mahesh Manjrekar and Jaya Prada.
