Mozambique enter Africa Basketball Championship semis

Maputo (Mozambique), Sep 28 (IANS): Mozambique defeated Nigeria 77-74 to reach the semifinals of the 2013 women's Africa Basketball Championship here.

Nigerians led slightly at the beginning of the game Friday, but Mozambique took the lead at the end of the game with a three-pointer in the dying minutes to clinch the victory, reports Xinhua.

The tournament, scheduled to end Sep 29, is Africa's most prestigious women basketball tournament and features 12 teams.

The finalists of the tournament will earn the two tickets to qualify for the 2014 women's FIBA World Championship in Turkey.
