Gurgaon industrialist held guilty of power theft


Gurgaon, Sep 29 (IANS): A court here has held an industrialist guilty of stealing electricity for his factory.

Tarun Yadav, managing director of Dabur Engineering Works in Narsinghpur, was found guilty by the court of Additional Session Judge Vani Gopal Sharma. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced Sep 30.

The electricity department's vigilance team conducted searches at the factory April 24, 2011, and detected the theft. It imposed a penalty of Rs.35 lakh on Tarun Yadav, a resident of sector 46 here.

A case was registered against him at Kherki Daula police station, under section 135 of the Electricity Act.
