Mangalore: MarThoma Syrian Church celebrates 21st Parish Day

Mangalore, Oct 1: MarThoma Syrian Church, here, celebrated its 21st Parish Day on Sunday September 29.

Dr Cherian Thomas, director of Ecumenical Christian Centre, Whitefield, Bangalore and the vicar general of the Chennai-Bangalore diocese, the chief guest of the day celebrated the Holy Communion service and delivered the main message.

Fr Varghese Mathew gave the welcome address and the secretary Alex Thomas read out the annual report. 

J R Lobo, Mangalore south constituency MLA was the guest of honour. Dr Jim Daniel Johnson felicitated him on behalf of the parish.

The parish directory was released by J R Lobo and received by Dr Kurien Abraham (DGM) on behalf of the Corporation Bank.

Concluding remarks were given by Fr Skariah Mathew and the vote of thanks was proposed by Legin P Varghese, accountant of the parish.
