Udupi, Oct 2: A gang of thieves have struck several houses in Uchila. The incident came to light on Tuesday October 1 morning.
The thieves targeted houses belonging to Aatika Hussain near Uchila Church, Polya’s Mumtaz, Nebisa Hasan and Nazeer Hasan and looted mobiles, around Rs 5000 cash and other valuables.
It is also learnt that they failed to break open the doors of the houses belonging to Abdul Razak and Iqbal Ahmad in Bhaskar Nagar.
When the thieves broke into Mumtaz’s house, she alerted her brother over phone. The thieves then escaped from the place through the gate and compound wall.
The thieves left behind a bike and shoes. It is learnt that one of them, was wearing brown color clothes but could not be identified.
Padubidri inspector Azmath Ali and finger print experts arrived at the spot. Investigation is on.
