Not concerned about Tendulkar's form: Rohit Sharma

New Delhi, Oct 2 (IANS): Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said he was not worried about his teammate Sachin Tendulkar’s form, after the batting great got out without scoring against the Perth Scorchers at the Ferozeshah Kotla here Wednesday.

Tendulkar has scored 15, 5 and 0 in the three Champions League Twenty20 games he has played so far, a poor performance by the 40-year-old.

“I am not concerned about his form as he is hitting the ball well. Unfortunately, he got out without scoring today. I don’t think we need to worry about him. A batsman of his experience can come good anytime he wants to. Hopefully, he will play a big knock in the semifinals,” Sharma said of Tendulkar, who will probably play his last T20 game Saturday.

Chasing 150 in 14.2 overs to qualify for the last four, Sharma said that they had decided to go after the bowling right from the start.

“We knew we had to go all out from the first ball as we just had 14.2 overs to achieve it. Delhi has always been a good wicket to bat on. Dwayne Smith played really well. Then Glenn Maxwell hit a couple of boundaries after which, me and Kieron Pollard batted well in the end,” said Sharma, who with his unbeaten 24-ball 51 was adjudged the man of the match.

The reigning Indian Premier League (IPL) champions will now face arch rivals Chennai Super Kings in the second semifinal here Saturday.

“CSK are not a dangerous side, but a good team. If you see our head-to-head record, we have done better than them. We have to perform our best against them. I want everyone to take up responsibility and look forward to contributions from everyone,” the Mumbai Indians skipper said.
