Bantwal: KSRTC bus-mini lorry collide, one injured

Bantwal, Oct 3: An accident due to collision between a KSRTC bus and mini lorry was reported from Bantwal-Kadur highway on Wednesday, October 2.

One person was seriously injured in the accident.  He is identified as 38 years old Yousuf, resident of Nagri of Sajipamooda.

The mini lorry was plying from Bantwal to Beltangady and was transporting live chickens in it. The KSRTC was plying from the opposite direction.  Both the vehicles are damaged due to the impact.  The locals struggled to pull the mini lorry driver from the vehicle.  He is badly injured in the leg and has been admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.

Fortunately the passengers in the bus have escaped with minor injuries.  The accident threw the traffic on the highway out of gear. 

Bantwal police arrived at the spot, conducted inspection and registered a traffic case.
