Karkala police arrest ganja peddler

Karkala, Oct 5: Police have arrested a ganja peddler who was targeting college students for his business.

The suspected is identified as Irfan. On confirmed information that he had come to Bhuvanendra college on October 2 at about 11 am to sell ganja, the police apprehended him.

Ganja weighing 550 grams is said to be found on him. It is said that he was selling ganja along with his friends in certain colleges in undivided Dakshina Kannada district.

After having become addicted to ganja, five students from prestigious families were taken into custody by the police and have been released only after giving an undertaking in writing in the presence of their families.

On Saturday October 5, Irfan was produced in JMFC court and sent to judicial custody for 15 days.
