Puttur, Mar 10: Man indeed is a bundle of desires. The ages have proved that persons can go to any extreme to satisfy their desires. One such incident of extreme desire and unhealthy drive to amass wealth has led children to admit their father into a mental hospital at Alake of Tannirpant near Uppinangady here.

One U T Aziz, a resident of Alake near Uppinangady has been admitted to Manasa Mental Hospital at Shimoga by his wife and children. The sources said that Aziz, who owns a grocery shop at Uppinangady bus stop, also owns huge property including 20 acres of land at Suralikatte-Alake.

He has five children. His wife and children thought that he would not give a share in his property. So they hatched a plan to grab the property when he was still alive.  They fed him with sedatives and when he was under the influence of the drug admitted him to Manasa Mental Hospital at Shimoga.

However, none of their relatives knew about this.  But when Aziz was not seen in his grocery shop, his brother-in -law U T Farid asked Aziz's son Asif about his father's absence.  At this point Asif said that Aziz had been admitted to a private hospital since he was suffering from fever.  But when Farid dwelt into the matter deep, he came to know that Aziz was admitted to Manasa Mental Hospital.

He then went to Shimoga and met Aziz where he came to know that Aziz was healthy. Immediately he came back and filed a case with the Uppinangady police to release Aziz from the mental hospital and offered him protection.

He has filed a case against Aziz's wife Jameela (45) and children Asif (25), Harshad (23), Ansar (22), Houwaf (21) and Ansaf (20).
