Mangalore: Violence Strikes City as Bundh Begins Updates at 9.00am IST with Pictures

Mangalore, Mar 10: A ‘Sunday look’ shrouded the city on Friday with the bundh called by the Rashtriya Hindu Sene succeeded in making the city inactive. The city streets wore a deserted look with only private and government vehicles plying in and out of the city.


Barring one instance of stone pelting at a government bus at Padil, on untoward incident has been reported so far. The bus which was on its way to Subramanya was attacked by miscreants who broke the glass of the vehicle.

With only a handful of shops conducting business including medical stores, majority of commercial establishments remained closed.



 

Schools also remained closed with the ongoing exams of high school and Pre University postponed.

Auto rickshaws were in full swing as they became the saviours to the commuters in the absence of private bus service.



Grabbing this opportunity, several bus drivers utilized the day to attend to maintenance of their vehicle.

Overall the city was peaceful.
