Boat capsizes near Hejamady, loss put at Rs 7 lac

Udupi, Oct 9: A trawl boat capsized in Alive Bagilu off Hejmady Kodi near Padubidri here on Wednesday October 9. The loss is estimated at Rs 7 lac.

The boat 'Deva Ganga' is said to have sunk due to strong currents in the water. 

Five people including the owner of the boat that were in it, managed to swim to safety.

The boat is owned by Ullal’s Ranjith Kotian.  The mishap occurred when a fishing net was being spread near the estuary from the boat.
