India ready to invest in Iran's free trade zone


Tehran, Oct 9 (IANS): Indian Ambassador to Iran D.P. Srivastava said Wednesday that India is keen on enhancing economic cooperation by investing in a free trade zone (FTZ) at the southeastern port city of Chabahar, IRNA reported.

India is to launch a trial programme for transit of goods through Chabahar to Milak on the Iran-Afghanistan border in Sistan province, he said.

The Indian government is willing to invest in various economic sectors as transit of goods, benefit from existing facilities at Chabahar FTZ.

According to a statement, the Indian ambassador and his entourage visited various commercial and industrial sections of Chabahar FTZ.
