Bantwal, Mar 13: The famous Muduru-Paduru Kambala was held at Kavalkatte here on Sunday March 12.
Dr Veerendra Hegde, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala presided over the valedictory ceremony of the floodlight event. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Kambala unites people and has gained a special place for itself in the country. He complimented the people of Tulunad for training the laziest animal, the buffalo, for the race.
Former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLA Abhaychandra Jain, former minister B A Moideen, Udayavani Mangalore bureau head Manohar Prasad, journalist Abdul Salam, district Congress vice president Ivan D’Souza and others were present on the occasion.
B Ramanath Rai, former MLA and honorary president of Kambala committee, welcomed the gathering.
