Himachal chief secretary hospitalised


Chandigarh, Oct 10 (IANS): Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Sudripta Roy was Thursday admitted to the hospital here after he suffered a brain stroke, said doctors.

Roy was taken to the PGI in Chandigarh from Shimla's Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH). His condition was critical but stable, a doctor told IANS.

The chief secretary was hospitalised when he complained of severe headache and his blood pressure shot up.

Roy could not be airlifted from Shimla owing to bad weather. Later, he was taken to Chandigarh by road, said official sources.
