Udupi, Mar 16: Bishnupriya of KMC Manipal and Gururaj Kalyani of Alva's College, Moodabidri won the 'Manipal Marathon' in the women's and men's category respectively.

The marathon was organized by the Manipal Institute of Management (MIM) as part of its annual management fest 'Genesis-2006' to raise fund for the Shirdi Sai Baba Cancer Care Endowment Fund. The 7.5 kilo metre marathon was flagged off by Vasanthi R Pai at KMC Grounds.

In the women's category Neha of Manipal College of Dental Sciences and Michael Castle of Manipal College of Nursing won the second and third prizes respectively.

In the men's category Prakash of Alva's College and Parshwanath of Nitte Engineering College won the second and third prizes respectively. Archana won the special marathon prize.

MIM director Prof K V M Varamballi, Dr Vidyasagar of Shirdi Sai Baba Cancer Hospital, Marathon Convenor Prof Muralidhar Kini, MAHE Student Welfare Director Dr Pushp a Kini and entrepreneur Pramod Madhwaraj were present on the occasion.
