Mumbai, Oct 17 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 3.03 points or 0.01 percent up during pre-noon trade Thursday.
Good buying was observed in oil and gas and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors; while selling pressure was seen in capital goods and IT sectors.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 20,579.56 points, was trading at 20,550.65 points in the pre-noon session, up 3.03 points or 0.01 percent from previous day's close at 20,547.62 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 20,629.80 points and a low of 20471.25 points during trade so far.
The S&P BSE IT oil and gas index gained 149.82 points and the FMCG index moved up by 91.77 points, while the capital goods index dropped by 107.64 points and IT index went down by 103.16 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 1.45 points or 0.02 percent up at 6,090.50 points.
