New Delhi, Oct 17 (IANS): Philips Thursday said A. Krishnakumar, current head of healthcare business in India, will be appointed managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) for its electronics business in the country with effect from December 2013.

Krishnakumar will take the position from Rajeev Chopra, who has been elevated as global head of Philips Consumer Luminaire Business Group.

The Netherlands-headquartered Philips said its board of management has taken the decision for the reshuffle in the top positions.

Krishnakumar will continue to head the healthcare business until his successor has been appointed, Philips said in a statement.

An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, Krishnakumar worked with firms like Coopers & Lybrand Consulting, HSBC Investment Banking, Microland and Johnson & Johnson’s healthcare division, before joining Philips in June 2010.
