Two dead in US school shooting


Los Angeles, Oct 22 (IANS): At least two people, including a teacher, were killed and as many injured in a shooting Monday morning at a middle school in the US state of Nevada, school officials said.

According to police, one person killed Monday morning at Sparks Middle School was a teacher and the other is what authorities described as a student/suspect, Xinhua reported.

Two Sparks Middle School students have identified a popular math teacher as one of the victims of the shooting, Washoe County School District Police Chief Mike Mieras told a press conference.

The shooting occurred at around 7.15 a.m. local time (GMT 1475) when classes were starting at Sparks Middle School, outside of Reno, Nevada, Sparks police said.

The shooter was believed to have been "neutralised", according to Sparks police spokesperson.

    It is only at the patents' level that one will be able to identify those kids with these kind of tendencies. It is time parents took necessary steps to treat children with abnormal behaviour. High time this is done. Same applies to those who indulge in rape.
