Five killed in Taliban clash


Kabul, Oct 24 (IANS): At least one policeman and four Taliban militants were killed in a clash in Baghlan-e-Markazi district of Baghlan province, 160 km north of Kabul, police said Thursday.

"The clash erupted late Wednesday night in Baghlan-e-Markazi district, during which one police constable and four Taliban rebels were killed," Xinhua quoted a police officer in Burhanudin Zahid province as telling the media.

Three policemen and seven Taliban militants sustained injuries in the clash, he added.
