President meets youth delegation from Bangladesh


New Delhi, Oct 24 (IANS): There are deep-rooted ties between Indian and Bangladesh, President Pranab Mukherjee Thursday told a 100-member youth delegation from the country which called on at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here, said an official statement.

Noting that India and Bangladesh have a common history, heritage and culture, he said that "the bondage between the two countries is deep-rooted".

The president said that he was delighted to meet them as he has deep personal attachment with Bangladesh.

Addressing the delegation, he said that the youth are the future of a nation.

"They can decide the future course of action they want whether it should be conflict or conciliation, destruction or development," he added.

The president appreciated the efforts of the Bangladesh's youth affairs and sports ministry and High Commission of India in Dacca for their efforts in organising the delegation's visit.
