  • Couple meets with two accidents on consecutive days
  • Both accidents on the same spot

Mumbai, Mar 24: Gratitude kills, discovered Jaypal Kamble (30), whose wife Nanda (26), was mowed down by a truck near Solapur on Wednesday.

Ironically, the Kambles had met with an accident at the same spot on Tuesday evening, but were rushed by villagers to Basaveshwar Hospital in Solapur, 25 km from the accident spot. They were treated for minor leg injuries and were released on Wednesday morning.

Let’s thank villagers

While the couple, from Saki Naka, Mumbai, were resuming their journey to Bidar, Karnataka, they decided to stop by at the accident spot and thank the villagers for their help yesterday.

Said Latif Mujawar from Solapur taluka police station, “They reached Tandulwadi, and Nanda told her husband that they should halt for a while and thank the villagers for the help provided when they met with an accident on Wednesday.

“So, Jaypal turned his motorbike towards the village. Just as he reached the accident spot, an approaching truck rammed into the bike, killing his wife instantly. It was exactly the same place where they met with an accident the day before!”

Husband injured

Jaypal, who is a  peon at the American School, Bandra,  was seriously injured and is yet to regain consciousness at the Civil Hospital, Solapur. Police have arrested Ashirwad Vinikonda, the truck driver.
