Rupee up 6 paise vs dollar in early trade


Mumbai, Oct 28 (PTI): The rupee today gained 6 paise to 61.40 against the dollar in early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on increased selling of the US currency by exporters.

Forex dealers said strengthening of the euro against the dollar in overseas market on expectations that the US Federal Reserve will keep its monetary easing policy in place till early next year boosted the sentiment.

A higher opening in the domestic equity market also supported the rupee, they said.
