Mumbai, Mar 25: A teenager stabbed a 19-year-old girl after she declined his proposal to marry him.
The incident happened at Kurar village in Malad on Friday when the victim had stepped out of her home for work when the accused, Shakeel Ishaaq Sheikh (18) stabbed the victim for refusing to marry him.
Having lived in the same locality, the victim knew the accused well. She however, refused to elope and marry the accused.
The accused had proposed the girl on March 23 and had asked her to meet him the next day at 6.00 am at Shivaji Nagar. When the victim did not turn up as promised, the accused went up to her and stabbed her in a fit of rage.
The injured victim has been admitted to Bhagwati Hospital.
He was produced before the Borivali court on Saturday where he was remanded to a judicial custody of 14 days.
