British diplomat visits Technopark


Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 29 (IANS): British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai Bharat Joshi Tuesday visited Technopark to explore ways to strengthen ties between companies based in Kerala and Britain.

Joshi, who recently took over, was received by Technopark's senior business development manager M. Vasudevan and later met senior officials of various Technopark companies.

They discussed establishing of a joint innovation cell at Technopark towards reverse innovation, improvement of services for British business group members, delegation visits to both India and Britain besides a proposal to set up a satellite centre of the UK Trade and Investment here and to get British venture capitalists into funding IT companies in Kerala.

Joshi also assured that he will visit Kerala more often and provide maximum support for trade and investment, especially for the IT/ITES industry.

Technopark is home to close to more than 250 companies which employ more than 30,000 employees.
