Rib-tickling 'Ram-Leela' at 'Diwali Dhamaka'


New Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS): There were various versions of "Ramleela" and now Zee TV's "Diwali Dhamaka" will present Lord Ram's life story in a different and much more entertaining manner.

Set in modern times, the fun-filled Ramleela act will see contestants of "India's Best Dramebaaz" - Praneet Sharma, Zenith Patel, Chinmay Deshkar, Nihar Hemant Gite, Aditya Singhal, Tejaswini Deshmukh and Honey Kilwani - playing different roles.

While Nihar will play cool Ravan, Pranit will make the viewers laugh in his Hanuman avatar with one liners like "Ram, you don't even respond to my Whatsapp and Facebook messages?", said a statement.

The 'super moms' from "Dance India Dance" will perform on "Dhol baje" from upcoming film, "Ram-leela" and "DID Lil masters" - Jeet Das, Om Chetry, Shreya Acharya, Shalini Moitra and Rohan Parkale - will be shaking a leg to the groovy tunes of "Lungi dance" from "Chennai Express" and "Gandi baat" from "Bullet Raja".

Other actors including Savita Prabhune and Farida Dadi will also be seen participating in fun games.

"The show promises to give a fresh dose of entertainment," said Ajay Bhalwankar, ZEEL, Content Head (Hindi GECs).

"This year, we will wish our viewers a happy, healthy, prosperous and successful Diwali and New Year with 'Diwali Dhamaka'. It aims to get a smile on every member's face in the family with its amazing and diverse line up of acts," Bhalwankar added.
