Young woman gang-raped in Gurgaon, three arrested


Gurgaon, Oct 30 (IANS): Three people who have been arrested for raping a 19-year-old call centre employee here early Wednesday have been sent to 14-days judicial custody, police said.

The victim was returning from her friend's birthday party after midnight Tuesday, police said.

Joint Commissioner of Police Maheshwar Dayal identified the main accused as Dinesh, a property dealer, who offered her a lift on his motorcycle to the nearest Metro station but took her to a house in Sector 46.

A resident of Jharsa village on the Gurgaon-Delhi Expressway, Dinesh also has a mobile recharge shop in Jal Vihar area near his village.

The victim, who works in a call centre in Delhi, lives in Gurgaon in rented accommodation.

Police said the victim was known to Dinesh as she had visited his mobile recharge shop on several occasions.

Dinesh knew that the victim was in a party at her friend's house in Sushant Lok area.

His two accomplices have been identified as Naveen and Satyadev. All three men are in their mid-20s.

Satyadev is married and has two children.

After medical examination of victim, a case under section 376 D was registered at Sadar Police Station. The trio was later produced before a local court which sent them to judicial custody.
