Mumbai, Nov 1 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 31.48 points or 0.15 percent up in the pre-noon trade Friday.
Good buying was seen in metal, banking index (bankex) and auto sectors, while selling pressure was seen in consumer durables.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,158.81 points, was trading at 21,196 points in the pre-noon session, up 31.48 points or 0.15 percent from previous day's close at 21,164.52 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,293.88 points and a low of 21,146.57 points during trade so far.
The S&P BSE metal index gained 118.22 points, bankex moved up by 163.78 points and auto index inched up by 146.47 points. However, consumer durables index dropped by 134.43 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 9.15 points or 0.15 percent up at 6,308.30 points.
