Bangalore, Nov 5 (IANS): The Karnataka Wheelchair Tennis Association (KWTA) is organising the third National Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Championship Nov 8-11 at KSLTA here.
The event is being organised in association with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) and Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis Federation of India (PWTFI).
The organisers are expecting around 80 players from 15 states including Shekar, Anil, Prathima (Female) from Karnataka, Balachandra, Mariappan from Tamil Nadu, Dudhreja Chhabildas, Dodiya Vishal, Makwana Chandu from Gujarat, Rajesh from Delhi and Harish Bist from Maharastra.
"It is a proud moment for us to host this event for the first time. We have made a humble beginning by getting about 30 wheelchair players who practice at KSLTA during weekends and now by hosting this event. Our aim is to provide opportunity and produce players who could make an entry to ITF circuit and make India proud in Asian Games and Olympics," KWTA president B.A. Naniappa said.
