Nanning (China), Nov 6 (IANS): Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson's autobiography has become one of the most popular English books in China.
According to the statistics from Taobao, one of the largest online shopping sites in China, nearly 1,000 copies of Ferguson's My Autobiography have been sold since its release Oct 26, which makes it one of the bestsellers in the category of imported English books, reports Xinhua.
He Juntao, who labels himself a lifetime supporter of Manchester United, bought the book despite the fact that he had to overcome the language barrier.
"My English is so-so but I am so eager to know more details and anecdotes of this man, one of the most influential figures in the history of British football, and I will keep it as one of my most valuable collections," he said.
After retiring early his year, the coach launched his second autobiography reviewing his successful career as a football manager for nearly four decades, his relationship with some of his outstanding players and the factors that led to his retirement.
