Kolkata, Nov 7 (IANS): Rohit Sharma struck a century on debut to rescue India from a precarious 83 for five to 354 for six in the first innings at the close of play on the second day of the first cricket Test against the West Indies at the Eden Gardens here Thursday.
Rohit was batting on 127 and Ravichandran Ashwin on 92, and at stumps they had built a 198-run unfinished stand for the seventh-wicket. India now have a lead of 120 runs in response to the West Indies' 234 in the first innings.
