Udupi, Nov 8: Dr Hebri Subhaskrishna Ballal, pro chancellor of Manipal University has been nominated member of the Medical Council of India by the government of India under clause (e) of sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) for four years.
Dr Ballal is a former vice chancellor of the University.
Chancellor Dr Ramdas M Pai said, “Manipal University is proud to have Dr Ballal as a member of the Medical Council of India.”
Dr Ballal was the chairman of the higher education committee of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) for a term from 2007 to 09. He is the recipient of several honors and awards, such as ‘IBM Inspiring Vice Chancellor of the Year Award', ‘Education Personality of the Year Award’ and others for his achievements in the field of medical education and healthcare sector.
