Mangalore, Apr 3: The Karnataka Janapada Mattu Yakshagana Academy, in association with the Alvas Education Foundation (R), will hold the annual awards presentation ceremony in the K V Subbanna open-air auditorium in the Vidyagiri campus of the Alvas here at 7-00 pm on Monday, April 3.
State chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will present the awards. State fisheries, endowments and horticulture minister B Nagaraj Shetty will preside over the function.
Local MLA K Abhayachandra Jain, former MLA Amaranath Shetty and Alvas Education Foundation chairman M Mohan Alva will be the chief guests.
The awardees will be introduced by Kannada University-Hampi's vice chancellor B A Viveka Rai. Academy president Keremane Shambhu Hegde will give the intrductory remarks.
Those who have won the awards for this year include Gangayya Parava for Bootaradhana art, Haladi Krishnappa for Yakshagana, Mahabala Poojary for making of folklore musical instruments and Dr Shrikrishna Bhat Artikaje (Chennai) for outstation Kannada activities.
