Mangalore, Apr 3: The district unit of the Janavadi Women’s Organisation put up a district-level convention of women in Kandaya Bhavan here on Sunday April 2. The event was inaugurated by state secretary of Janavadi Women’s Organisation Vimala.
“For a healthy society women must enjoy the right to equality,” said K S Vimala. Further the need for self-employment will create self-confidence among women and would go a long way in helping women live with respect and dignity.
Condemning the ill treatment meted on women, Vimala said that serious deliberations and action should be initiated to change this.
District president of Janavadi Women’s Organisation Hemalatha reaffirmed the commitment of the organization to the cause of women’s rights.
