Probing source of AAP's foreign funding: Shinde

AAP says ready for probe; demands Cong, BJP funding also be probed

Updated

New Delhi, Nov 11 (PTI):
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today said it is ready for a government probe into its funding, but demanded that Congress and BJP also submit themselves to the same scrutiny.

"We welcome the government's order into our funding. We demand that the government also investigate into the funding of Congress and BJP," AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal told PTI.

AAP has collected around Rs 19 crore till November 8 as donations from 63,000 people, including a host of NRIs.

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said that the inquiry has been ordered against AAP on receiving complaints regarding alleged foreign funding for it.

"Complaints have come to me. We are probing the matter. ...from where the funds are coming, from which country, what is the source etc. We are trying to find out all these," he told reporters here.

The Home Minister, however, said such a probe takes time and indicated that the outcome of the investigation may not come before the Delhi assembly elections scheduled to be held on December 4.

Kejriwal demanded that "the probe report should be out within 48 hours after the probe ends."

AAP, while raising doubt over "swiftness" shown by the government for probe, said "in past 65 years, has Congress ever demanded probe into BJP's funding?"

The party leaders also said the timing of the demand for probe indicates that Congress and BJP were "hand-in-glove".

"BJP leader Arun Jaitley had raised the issue of AAP receiving funds from overseas. At the same time, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is also demanding probe into our funding. It seems that Congress and BJP are jointly making a strategy on how to attack AAP," a party leader said.

Dikshit had yesterday questioned the source of funding of AAP, whose main election plank is to check corruption and which has been relentlessly attacking the Congress Chief Minister and her government on the issue.

Probing source of AAP's foreign funding: Shinde

New Delhi, Nov 11 (IANS): The government is investigating the source of foreign funding to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said Monday as AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal demanded a probe into the funding of the BJP and the Congress as well.

"We have got complaints about foreign funding to AAP and are probing the matter... Investigations take time and we are looking for the source behind the funding," Shinde said.

AAP's chief ministerial candidate for delhi Kejriwal said he was ready for any probe only if the source of funding to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress were also investigated.

"They can probe us but they should also investigate the funding of BJP and Congress. The home minister should reveal the source of the Congress party's funding too," said Kejriwal.

AAP leader Kumar Vishwas challenged the government to prove them guilty.

"There's no point in making allegations against us. I challenge both the Congress and the BJP to prove us guilty. We receive all our funds in a transparent manner," he said.

"Both the parties are sacred of us," he added.

The debutant AAP appears to have dimmed the prospects of both the Congress, which has been ruling Delhi for the past 15 years, and the opposition BJP which hopes to gain from a strong anti-incumbency factor.

    Dear Mr. Rosario Fernandes, Kallianpur,

My children’s life was handled by me and my wife and didn’t put to another’s shoulder. The love of father and mother to the children is must which should not miss. I was a mother to my children from 1-4 years without engaging in work (I thank God for providing this opportunity which were wonderful happy days of my life with children during their childhood days).

This is what when we in the family with children discuss any kind of issues,my wife says to the children if you forget me/mother never mind don’t forget your father. (I am a happy father and I proudly and daily Pray to the Heavenly Father: our Father who art in heaven…..)
Secondly, is there any where in the world taxes are abolished by any governments? Yes, in some countries there is no income tax but there are continuous other taxes entail in one way or the other.
Thirdly buying and selling of property doesn’t entail corruption or bribe?! (I will put your term corruption and bribe) Every individual is deceiving the government without paying proper taxes. We have to pay the tax to the government as well as the moral tax. If deceived it is a crime morally and legally.
Here in this column almost commentators are blaming politicians and indulging in one way or the other in corruption and deception.
Thank you for your honest comment and I close my comments to this news blog.
God bless you and your family.
And God bless me and my family also.

LOL -) .... Sometime back I read an article about India having half of the worlds modern slaves, 67 years !, even after 67 years .. This is the most shameful thing that can ever happen to this country, it either means Indians don't have a clue as to what they need to do to make their lives as well as others around them better or its just that they are some abominable creatures capable of exuding only one human emotion which is that of "selfishness". Such a shame, every politician who is as old as someone like Mr. Karunanidhi (or Lalu Prasad Yadav) who when they started their political careers made certain promises to the people of this country to win their trust and these very people even after being in politics for more than 50 years are making the same promises even today to win votes, these are the venal vermin's this country has to do away with,

People of Delhi you have a chance to create a change and make rest of the country to seriously ponder about probity, Vote for AAP and start the change our country deserves, its been 67 years already.

Today I was watching a debate on this subject on TV, Times Hour at 9pm. It was so disgusting to watch
    the major parties like Congress,
    BJP, SP, singling out AAP.
These major parties never give a direct answer to a question. They
    dodge the question and divert.
When the Anchor asked a question
to BJP (Meenakshi Leky), " From
where did you get these crores of rupees?", instead of giving
direct answer she rolls on to AAP. Aam Admi Party has disclosed their list on their web site.
    Why can't others do this.?

Just because AAP is not yet fully
    established, bully them.?

    Dear Joseph:
    I got your point. Firstly I don't
know why you gave me a long explanation.?
Corruption is all around, you can't
    eliminate completely. In property
buying, its not a corruption, its
a buying procedure. This is to
avoid paying capital gains & other
    taxes. If the government abolishes
taxes on properties all this will
stop. Secondly, corruption and bribe are two different terms but interrelated. A bribe is corruption
but corruption is not a bribe.
Regarding educating the children, I am lucky, I never faced that problem. My only daughter (Now married-35) studied in a Catholic Convent in Panchgani from 6 years
to 18 years. My responsibilities on
this issue was handled by Nuns.
So, I can not debate much on this.
Have a nice day, nice discussing with you. Let's discuss some other
    time on some other subject.

Why everyone is blaming UPA only?
Please read the above article properly.
If all of you BJPians know who is Jaitley then you all are Fekus to say Congress only wants the probe.
Initial demand for probe came from your BJP through Jaitley after which it was supported by Ms. Dixit of Congress. Complaints from others have not been named.

Every one knows how RSS\BJP twists the facts just to to save its skin. They tell lies most of the time and their PM candidate is the biggest of them all.

Do not just get carried away by all those false projection of Gujarath.

Now Kejriwala has rightly demanded scrutiny of funds of UPA\Congress and BJP too. Unless Kejriwala or someone else lodges complaints against Congress\BJP etc. there can not be any inspection\probe in their funds.

    Dear Mr. Rosario Fernandes, Kallianpur,
I can fight for corruption individually in a small scale. You can fight for corruption individually in a small scale.
However when I want to buy a flat, I have to pay black under the table and white over the table. Can I get a flat without paying black and white? Does not it entail corruption?!

If I wanted to pass my house plan do you know how much the in-charge officials of Mangalore Corporation are asking, depending upon the plan from 2 lakhs to 10 lakhs. Can you imagine?! From where this money be acquired from agricultural farming from, Cooli and from salary?! Possible or impossible.
The Reason I should have a small house of my own. For getting electricity connection also required to bribe. Otherwise I should have a God Father. Certainly that God Father will take advantage later on.
Corruption is ruling in each and every individual’s house. Unless and until we teach our own children to live in good manners up to a balanced budget, refrain from alcohol, extra-marital sex, gambling, goonda gardhi, stay in a Q in patience without disrupting others who are in the line we will end up in violence, hatred and chaos in the society.

During emergency in 1976 Janata Party was formed to fight against Congress and people whole heartedly voted and brought to power. Soon Janata party became BRASTACHARA JANATA PARTY (BJP) and people lost interest.

In the initial stage of AAP party people were excited and now before the elections itself AAP party changing their tune and color is visible.

Moreover their recent controversial Aravind Khejrewal meeting Muslim cleric Maulana who issued fatwa against Taslina (Journalist) which required public awareness so that people understand the cheap mentality of these politicians to grab power. They dont bother innocents. They are coming and going leaders with their personal agenda.

In my opinion the money which is funded why not from criminal minded groups and links from abroad which is to be probed.

The whole process of funding the parties bestows room for corruption. If a Firm is funding the party surely that firm will take advantage of that party. How?! Corruption certainly entails if not favoring the party will not get funding for its next election campaign.

THERE SHOULD HAVE GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR CONTESTING ELECTIONS AND THERE SHOULD HAVE MINIMUM EXPENDITURE FROM EACH INDIVIDUAL SPENDING FOR ELECTIONS. The chosen M.P.’s are getting salaries and benefits.

In the present format of funding for elections by the companies bestows room for corruption.
After all those discussions in the parliament by literates and illiterates of the chosen M.P.’s nobody have come forward for election reforms.

They have nothing to show in their defense or their record of 10 years of tenure. So they are indulging in tarnishing a straightforward party's name. It's a shame that judiciary instead of probing into the black money stashed abroad are acting as the agents of the "con"gress ! There is no way this country can fix it's problems. Whenever someone tries to save the country, the people in power through hurdles in their way. The government role should be to protect its people not to harass them. Congress is not there to serve it's citizen, they are their to create fear and chaos among opposition and the general public. Shame on the government and shame on it's policies. It is not a democracy, it is an autocracy and anarchy. They are all corrupt and whoever is in the power makes sure that it drags the oppositions into some sort of legal battle to disqualify them, so that they cannot grab the power from them. Congress PARTY MUST GO. I am glad to see that AAP has it's own attorneys and they will fight the government over this issue. I don't support any party Shetre..But many a times you have blindly supported BJP for their misdeeds. That is the reason I made those remarks of rail budpuna..2 2 should be always 4. It can not be 5 anytime. So follow same yardsticks for all political parties. Condemning one political party and praising another even if that other commits blunders doesn't serve any purpose.

This ruling party can go to any extent to ruin others, but this action doesn't claim as they are sacred. People must understand this.

Let them probe. But probing by whom? ATS: proved themselves useless after Mumbai Attack and Malegaon Blast case, IB: proved wrong by CBI due to internal tussle, CBI: our Own High Court labeled them as an illegal law enforcing authority, Delhi Police: struggling to defend their “Izzath” after Delhi Rape Case, Indian Army: not even know till date what they have to do when Pakistan Army and ISI attacks them at the border. So, Shinde Saab, better you sort out the matter internally else before the start of the probe, your State Government in Delhi will start sitting in the last row of opposition bench

What a shameless government. First set your house in order. If people complain about the source of funding of Congress, BJP, SP, BSP.. and all thundu parties, will the government initiate a probe against all of them. Even this government went to the extent that they kept political parties out of the RTI ambit. If you have the guts, initiate probe on the source of funding for every party.. and put out the details in public domain. will you Mr. Shinde?..
