Parliamentarians pay tribute to Maulana Azad


New Delhi, Nov 11 (IANS): Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and BJP Parliamentary Party chairman L.K. Advani led parliamentarians in paying tributes to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on his 125th birth anniversary Monday.

At a function organised in the Parliament House complex here, the parliamentarians paid floral tributes before a portrait of independent India's first education minister.

The portrait of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was unveiled by then president Rajendra Prasad in the Central Hall of Parliament House on Dec 16, 1959.
