Iran allows IAEA to visit Araks plant, Gachin mine

Tehran, Nov 11 (IANS): Iran has allowed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect the Araks heavy-water reactor plant and Gachin uranium mine in the south of the country, IRNA reported Monday.

The announcement was made by Vice President and chief of Iran Atomic Energy Organisation (IAEO) Ali Akbar Salehi, who signed an agreement with Yukiya Amano, the visiting chief of the UN nuclear watchdog.

The two sides also inked a joint statement during the meeting.

Salehi said the agreement "is a roadmap which clarifies the mutual steps to resolve the remaining issues" pertaining to the IAEA's questions on Iran's nuclear activities.

Amano arrived in Tehran Monday morning to participate in new round of talks between Iran and the IAEA.
