Moodbidri, Apr 4: A seven-year-old school girl was killed when a lorry knocked her down on Bantwal Road near here on Monday April 3 afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Dilshad Begum (7), daughter of Mariamma here. She was the class VII student of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School here.
On Monday afternoon she was going to the school after having here lunch at home when a recklessly driven lorry knocked her down. She sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital here. Later on she was shifted to A J Hospital in Mangalore. However, she succumbed to the injuries later in the night on Monday.
The Moodbidri police have registered a case against lorry driver Manjunath in this regard.
