Mangalore, Apr 4: Even though the case regarding running live bands in the city is in the court, live bands are being opened in the city.  There cannot be greater paradox than this that on the one hand, the government has been maintaining that live band joints will be shut down while on the other hand new live bands are given permission to begin their operation.

There are already 12 live bands in and around the city.  People have already protested against running live band joints in the city.  Even a case is pending in the court in this regard.

Now the High Court has given green signal to start two more live bands in the district. As per the order, one live band will be started near KSRTC bus stand at Lalbagh.  The place of the other live band joint is not known.

With this the total number of live bands in the district will go up to 14.  Despite the public protest, the government has been merrily giving permission to start these sorts of entertainment joints which are not so healthy for the entire society.
