Fujairah celebrates jubilees of parish priest, bishop

Fujairah, Nov 12:
The silver jubilee of priesthood of Fr Patrick, the parish priest of Fujairah Church and the golden jubilee of religious profession of Bishop Paul Hinder were celebrated recently at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Fujairah.

The Holy Eucharistic celebration was presided by Bishop Paul Hinder and concelebrated by 13 priests. In his homily Bishop Paul emphasized on the need of prayer for the unity in the Church. "A priest is the servant of the people of God. We should thank God for giving us wonderful priests and always pray for their mission," he said.

A felicitation programme was held after the mass in the Church quadrangle.
 
Fr Jayapalan, the provincial superior of Salesians honoured the bishop and the parish priest. Bishop Paul Hinder congratulated Fr Patrick for his selfless service as a priest for 25 years and the faithful of Fujairah for the last 4 years. The parish council secretary Godwin Gomez felicitated the parish priest on behalf of the parishioners. Ronald Pereira honored him with a Mysore Peta.

Food was served to all the attendees at the end.

The celebration was organized by the parish council and various community representatives under the leadership of Melvin Vas, the vice-president of parish council.
